Ruth Goring is a poet (Soap Is Political; Yellow Doors), writer-illustrator for children (Picturing God; Adriana’s Angels), and manuscript editor (University of Chicago Press). Jamie Ong, Environmental Protection Project Manager at the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (NYC Parks), has nearly 20 years of experience in wetland and riparian restoration, watershed planning, and green infrastructure design. At NYC Parks, she is piloting innovative salt marsh restoration techniques, managing conceptual planning for urban stream projects, and developing watershed-wide recommendations for water quality improvement, shorefront access, and citizen engagement.

Jamie holds a BS in Natural Resources from Cornell University, an MPS in Environmental Science from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and an MA in International Relations from the Maxwell School of Public Policy at Syracuse University.

She attends Living Faith Community Church in Flushing, Queens, where she enjoys exploring good food and public parks with her husband and two children.

Maureen Mathew serves as the Area Director of Central Texas. Originally from LA, she left her family and friends as an act of obedience to God’s call to full time ministry. In her fifteen years on staff, she has had a diverse range of experiences working with college students, speaking, teaching, and training. She never imagined staff as a vocation, especially as a South Asian woman, but believes her yes has impacted not only her but her family and friends too!

In her free time, she loves to eat good food, drink boba, stand up paddle, and watch rom coms. She loves facetiming her nephew and traveling with family and friends.

Caroline Lancaster serves as InterVarsity’s Associate Director for Multiethnic Initiatives. She is a second-generation South Asian American that has lived in California, Singapore, Boston, and most recently, outside of Chicago. She left a career in marketing and design to become a campus minister with InterVarsity at Boston University. Caroline is a certified Cultural Intelligence Trainer and participated in Rev. Dr. Brenda-Salter McNeil’s Reconciliation Leaders Cohort. She has been married to her wonderful husband for nine years, and is a mother to two boys.

Alexis Grant is a second-year PhD student in the division of Community Health Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health. She is a community engaged researcher with an emphasis on public health system partnerships, particularly for the purposes of implementing interventions in community settings. She takes an interdisciplinary approach in her work and has experience with both qualitative and quantitative analysis, geographic information systems, and systematic review. Grant holds a master’s degree in Behavioral and Social Health Sciences from Brown University and bachelor’s degrees in English and Psychology from Howard University.

Dr. Chloe Sun is the professor of Old Testament at Logos evangelical Seminary in El Monte, California, since 2004. She earned her PhD in Old Testament from Fuller Theological Seminary. She has published academic as well as ecclesial books and articles in both English and Chinese. Her upcoming book Conspicuous in His Absence: Studies on Song of Songs and Esther (IVP Academic) will be released in 2020. Dr. Sun also conducts Bible seminars and teaching internationally. Her passion is to communicate Scripture through teaching, preaching and writing in order to transform lives.

Sabrina S. Chan serves as the National Director of InterVarsity’s Asian American Ministries. She grew up as a second generation Cantonese American in Richmond, Virginia and worked as a computer network engineer for a few years after graduating from Rice University. In her 20 years on staff, she has volunteered at Rice, staffed at UT Austin, and served as a ministry director in Texas and the San Francisco Bay Area. She is passionate about seeing Asian Americans transformed by Christ as they grow in ethnic identity, evangelism, racial justice, and stewarding their lives for God's kingdom.

Sabrina earned her MA in Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary and was ordained in 2009. She lives in Durham, North Carolina with her husband Kevin and two young kids. She loves bike commuting, drinking tea, and hiking in the woods — all three whether alone or with family and friends.

Kaya works as Biblical Research and Ministry Specialist at Glorify Performing Arts, a non-profit, Christian ballet company in Pennsylvania. She holds an MTS and Certificate in Theology and the Arts from Duke Divinity School. She received her BA from Grinnell College, where she was a student leader in her InterVarsity chapter from 2015 to 2019. Kaya enjoys studying languages, ancient and modern, and dancing incessantly to meditate on theological concepts or to connect with her friends and community.

Jen is an Adjunct Professor of Old Testament with Ecclesia College. After finishing her PhD coursework, she and her husband Casey moved to the mountains of Utah to provide more opportunities for their special needs son. Their whole family enjoys the year-round outdoor opportunities in their area, especially hiking and downhill skiing. Because of Jen's and Casey's commitment to supporting their son, Jen primarily works from home, serving the church through her online teaching and her blog.
