Bless the Advent We Actually Have: A Journey Together

We have a long tradition of observing Advent together as a community. It's a unique time for those in academic and professional spaces. Not only are we expected to wrap up the semester's teaching and learning (and grading!) efficiently, but we're also preparing for a major holiday (often with travel involved) ... and how about spending time in spiritual reflection as well? The pressure can feel intense, and we've found that encouraging and supporting one another through December helps ease the burden.

So, join us in this year's practice! Women Scholars and Professionals will be reading a free Advent devotional by author and scholar Kate Bowler. Sign up below to connect with Women Scholars and Professionals, then head over here to access Kate's free devotional. Advent begins on Sunday, December 3, so we hope you'll access the online devotional before then. We'll gather for a few online conversations to share our experiences along the way — choose one or two, or come to all three! Mark your calendar for these dates:

  • Saturday, December 9 at 11 a.m. Eastern

  • Wednesday, December 13 at 8 p.m. Eastern

  • Tuesday, December 19 at 12 p.m. Eastern

We look forward to journeying together through Advent with you!
