One of the great perks of my job is the opportunity to meet really interesting people. And it’s even better when I am able to introduce them to our audience. So, it is my privilege to introduce you to Dr. Quyen Ngo-Metzger. Quyen has a fascinating background — you’ll hear some about it in the podcast. Her passion to practice medicine within the wider context of public health is evident in her conversation with me as well as her experiences. Her career has included time in a variety of situations from patient care in examining rooms to training med students in classrooms to developing the nation’s public policy in conference rooms. Throughout all of these, Quyen has sought to bring the values of the Kingdom God to bear. It’s exciting to think that a new cohort of medical students is under her influence as she begins her latest adventure: helping to open a new med school in Pasadena, California. Whether you are in a medical profession or not, I think you will appreciate hearing her perspectives and be encouraged by the way she models what it looks like to be a Christ follower in a complicated world.
