“I think particularly in this time, [I find hope in] remembering who God is — and that keeping promises and doing miracles and being good is who he is....Remembering that is very comforting, especially when we see so much death and suffering.”
— Alexis Grant
Listen in as WAP associate Caroline Triscik interviews Alexis Grant, PhD student in the field of public health at University of Illinois at Chicago. In this episode, Grant shares her passion for equity as she works toward change in policies to bring health care and resources to communities.
A mutual friend recently introduced me to Alexis Grant and her work in the field of public health. I am so grateful for the encouraging conversation we were able to have related to her work and how she is experiencing life in pandemic times. In our conversation, Alexis shares her journey toward pursuing a PhD in the public health field and her desire to see equitable health care in cities and communities everywhere. She also offers thoughts on how the pandemic is bringing some positive change in public policies even amidst the suffering. It was a gift to hear the way she integrates her faith and work, especially at this time, as well as how she is finding hope these days.
